Slide Shows

Having a slide show or PowerPoint presentation at your wedding reception offers your family, friends and guests an opportunity to take a glimpse into the years leading up to your special day. Whether you choose to start at childhood or at the engagement it offers an opportunity to share your personal memories with those around you. DVD Slide Shows will not only preserve your memories, they can also help you tell a story, and touch the memories of your friends and family. Keeping all of that in mind you also would like the presentation to be provided in a timely and professional fashion. At Olympia we are pleased to provide you with on staff A/V technicians that can assist you on your special day. In order to execute your slide show in a manner that provides a high degree of professionalism we ask that you keep in mind the following regulations governing slide shows or PowerPoint presentations.
At The Grand Olympia Hospitality and Convention Center we provide you with the following:
- A large 8 x 8 portable slide show front projected screen.
- Power bar, extension cords and all necessary electrical hook ups.
- An A/v cart professionally skirted.
- An on site A/v tech who will test your slide show, set it up and run it on the day of your wedding reception.
- Hook up for all necessary audio to our in house D.J. system.
You need to provide the following:
- 2 copies of the DVD or computer file for the presentation.
- The laptop computer or DVD player on which the presentation will be played.
- Patch cables to go between the computer or the DVD player and the projector.
- A LCD or DLP projector. (this can be rented from Hills TV or Fotovideo in Hamilton, Ontario)
- All necessary power cables for both the computer or DVD player and the LCDS or DLP projector.
Please note that all of the items must be tested prior to the event and therefore must be present in the facility no later than the morning of the event (preference would be the day prior to the event). This allows our in house A/V technicians to check all necessary hook ups and run the slide show or power point presentation in order to make sure that all functions well prior to the event.
Please contact our senior A/V technician and Entertainment Manager John via email: john@grandolympia.ca, if you wish to run a slide show. This must be done no later than 14 days prior to your event.
Unfortunately, we cannot run these presentations at the last minute due to the fact that the equipment must be tested and checked prior to the event taking place. Please keep in mind that once the equipment is tested and operating properly it will be set up and locked in a special a/v closet until the show is to take place. At this time the A/V technician will unlock the closet , set up the equipment and co-ordinate with the D.J. in order to instruct the guests to take their seats and view the presentation. Once the presentation is complete the equipment will be cased and locked in the a/v closet until the end of the event at which time the conveners or owners of the equipment can remove their property from the building.
It is absolutely imperative that these regulations be followed in order to ensure a flawless presentation.
